"Just doing my best to tread lightly on the Earth."

Instagram Diary, January 2015.

(Pictures not in order)
I thought that it would be a nice idea to put together all my Instagram posts from throughout January. Just to have a little summary of what my month has looked like.

My month consisted of lots of coffee/lunch dates, adventures, friends, baths, magazines, swimming, beautiful flowers and quite a few blog posts!

If you want to, feel free to follow me on Instagram! :

I will most likely do one of these each month, unless I have a really lazy and boring month where I upload hardly any pictures onto Instagram.... But I will try my best!

Comment your Instagram name, and I will follow you back!

January Favourites.

It has come to the end of the month and I have compiled together a few miscellaneous things that I have been loving throughout January!

Kmart Pressed Powder

I really love that this mineral pressed powder is made in Australia, therefore made to suit the Australian climate better. It is extremely affordable (Only costs around $8) and does the job perfectly. I use this on a daily basis as a light coverage. (Shade: Natural)

The Body Shop Shimmer Cubes

Just this month I re-discovered my Body Shop shimmer cubes that I bought around 3 years ago (not sure if they still sell them!) They are four little eye shadow cubes that are super pigmented and really easy to blend. I have the 07 palette, which has the four shades ruby, dusted sliver, argyle pink and rich bronze.

The Body Shop Mango Hand Cream

I got this along with a set for christmas, and I carry it in my bag with me everywhere! It is the perfect size, and smells amazing.

Nivea Caramel Cream Lip Butter

I am one of those people that gets seriously panicked if I leave the house without having a lip balm with me (and a bottle of water). I love the shape of these lip butters as you can put them in your pocket or bag without them being super intruding like regular twist ones. It smells amazing, tastes delicious and moisturises my lips perfectly. (cost around $2)

Kmart Ceramic Cups

Can we just appreciate how freaking awesome these cups are! They are styled to look obviously like slightly crumpled plastic cups but instead are ceramic, dishwasher safe and hot drink friendly cups! They come in multiple different colours and usually cost around $5. I have been admiring them for quite a while now and only recently they went on sale for $1! So of course I had to get some, I only got two and it was a pretty tough choice whether to get blue, red or beige. Clearly I chose the blue!

Qi Detox Green Tea

Not really a home-ware as such but this tea has been my go to tea all month, it is incredibly refreshing. If you want to know more or see what other teas I have been loving have a look at my blog post: Tea Collection- Current Favourites!

George Foreman Mix and Go

THIS IS THE BEST THING EVER! Seriously this is my absolute favourite kitchen appliance I have ever used! My parents bought this for christmas for me and my sister to use, and I have already used it so much this month! I make smoothies (Like this one: Healthy Vegan Banana Milkshake Recipe!), Slushies, pancake mixture and it blends everything to perfection! 10/10 Recommend!

Fig and Papaya Candle & Blackcurrant and Plum Candle

Both these candles are purchased from Kmart (You probably think that is the only place I shop, and you are probably right). They both smell super sweet and summery. I also cant wait to re-use the cute jars when the candle is finished, and the candles were only $1 each! So cheap! (This is why I love Kmart!)

Yen magazine (issues 73 & 74) The Festival Issue and The Adventure Issue

These are the first Yen magazines I have ever read and I think it is the start of a very wonderful addiction. I don't often read books, magazines just come across as a lot more appealing to me. However as a new years resolution I do plan to read more. But anyway the magazines are absolutely perfect, they have enticing beautiful matte pages and stunning photography and artwork. I find myself getting lost within the stories of adventures, dreams, and ideas. I am constantly waiting for the next issue to be released.

Let me know if you would like to see more monthly favourites (or not), and anything else you would like to see on my blog! Feedback always needed and appreciated! xx

Fireworks In the City.

Yesterday was Australia Day! So Happy Australia Day for yesterday!!
In the evening I caught the train with Callan (My boyfriend) into the city to watch the fireworks. When we got there we found a really good spot to sit on the grass with the water in front of us, pretty much exactly where we were last year. Perfectly placed so the fireworks were launching just in front of us and almost over our heads! I didn't take many photos of the fireworks as I really just wanted to enjoy being there in the moment, all the loud bangs making me jump and the beautiful flashes of colour filling the sky. Fireworks give me a really funny feeling because I get really excited about all the mesmerizing colours and explosions but my body reacts slightly afraid due to the loud bangs and sudden flashes, my heart beats faster and my eyes grow wider. Its exhilarating, really. When I did take a few snaps I really didn't focus on making sure the photo turned out well I really just pointed the camera and pressed the button, no focusing, lighting adjustments, I barely even looked at my phone!. But to be completely honest I'm really pleased with how my few photos turned out, they are imperfect , which to me makes them perfect, it makes them real.
Anyway I hope you like the photos as much as I do!

Straightened my hair for the first time in ages so I thought I might add in a few selfies as well!

Fries Before Guys.

Yesterday I spontaneously caught up in the City with my friend Marnie (I hadn't seen her since last year! no lie). We went to one of my favourite places to eat, Two Bit Villains On the balcony level of the Adelaide Arcade. I say its my favourite place to eat, yet I have only tried the fries there! I really must try the vegan nachos or burgers soon (The just introduced vegan gluten free buns!). So of course I got the typical fries served with a side of tomato sauce and mustard. I have no idea what they put on the fries that makes them so damn delicious, but they are super addictive! (evidently, because I keep coming back for them!).

I also had to make the toughest decision of the day and choose which soda I wanted to drink, Two Bit Villains are very well known for their hand crafted sodas so they all taste wonderful and you really can't go wrong. In the end I chose the strawberry soda! It was a very tough choice between Blueberry, strawberry and raspberry but I was very satisfied with my decision as the soda was delicious. Marnie chose the pineapple soda and said it was pretty good and she also had fries but with what TBV call "The Devils Shake". This means her fries were spicy, However  to Marnie (Who loves to eat curries and Indian food) they weren't that spicy so I tried one and I assure you they are incredibly spicy (or I'm incredibly weak).

The general routine when I got to Two Bit Villains is, don't even touch your soda until your food arrives and you can take the perfect instagram photos! seriously though you must resist because if you post a nice enough photo there is a very high chance that TBV will Re- gram it and thats pretty cool, if you ask me (They used the first picture on this post! on their facebook as wel!). They also have the cutest decorations and interior ever, I cant help but be tempted to take tons of photos every time I go there! They have lots of retro and vintage pieces, like the typewriter pictured above. And I adore the colourful umbrellas!

If you would like to have a look at Two Bit Villains menus or know more visit:

The Adelaide Arcade is decorated with Australian Flags for Australia Day!

(note this sign: "This area is under constant video surveillance" Who ever watches that is going to have a good laugh at us trying to sit and pose on the very tiny edge haha)

Marnie (in the picture on the left) has just started a blog too, so you should definitely go and check it out! Blog posts coming soon! (I think they are gonna be pretty good!)

Healthy Vegan Banana Milkshake Recipe!

This is probably going to be the shortest blog post ever but I just wanted to share how I make a Healthy Vegan Banana Milkshake. I think this milkshake tastes sort of like a delicious type of cake batter, and I swear I have at least one of these a week! (no shame)

All you gotta do is simply blend together:
1 banana
Soy Milk (As much as you desire)
Approx. 2 tsp Pure 100% Maple Syrup (none of that "maple flavoured" stuff)
Dash of ground cinnamon

I blend it all up using my George Foreman Mix and go that my parents bought for Christmas and it is literally my favourite thing ever.

And that's it! Enjoy!

Urban Outfitters Wishlist.

"A girl can dream" This is my current wishlist of items that I would absolutely love to own from Urban Outfitters. Unfortunately I am pretty low on cash at the moment so I won't actually end up buying any of these things for a little while (sad face) But its nice to browse and have something to set my mind on to save some money and hopefully I can own some of these beauties soon!

  • BDG, Classic pocket backpack: $59- I have been wanting a nice leather backpack for a very long time (unfortunately still cant afford it), because I really want to have the style of a leather bag and the convenience of a backpack.
  • Kimchi Blue, Lace Triangle Bra: $5- I absolutely adore the look of simple black lace bra/bralettes. This one is probably the nicest one I have come across. And for only $5 (on sale) can you really go wrong?
  • Embossed Leather Journal: $24- I think I am collecting journals, I don't think I really need any more journals but I cant help it, this ones so pretty!
  • Kelsi Dagger Brooklyn, Twisted Buckle Sandal: $150- I AM OBSESSED WITH HOW BEAUTIFUL THESE SANDALS ARE! Seriously though look at them! They just look like the ideal sandal to wear with jeans or a dress or anything really. If only they were cheaper.
  • Zig Zag Duvet cover: $79- I have never actually had my own Bed set/ Quilt cover set. Ever since I got my double bed I have been using one that my parents already had and it is not too pretty in my opinion. However this Zig Zag/ chevron style one is perfect, I absolutely adore the yellow but you can also get it in a nice light grey and white.
  • One & Only X Urban Renewal, Collared Swing Dress: $40- Okay this dress is just really cute, super simple yet still super lovey.
  • Plush Drapey, Eternity Scarf: $34- Already preparing for the colder months, I have a few scarves but I don't have any really warm soft and good quality ones and this one looks incredibly lush.
  • Brushed Knit Cinch Wrist Glove: $5- I am one of those people that gets really cold hands, more often then not. So during autumn and winter I often find myself needing gloves. I currently only have finger-less gloves so I really want to get these ones as they look super cosy.
  • Wreck This Journal: $14- I think everyone at some point in their life will want one of these.
  • Cooperative Layered Collared Tunic Top: $79- My wardrobe pretty much only consists of black, white and grey, so why not add to it? I think this top looks so nice , I love the layered look paired with the over the knee socks.

Early Australia Day Festivities!

Having an Australia day get together has been a tradition with my primary school friends for quite a few years now and this year was the first year it was held at my house! (due to pool)

The temperature reached a lovely 31℃. Perfect for swimming!
With a pool float doughnut, bought online from Urban Outfitters and an Australia flag beach ball we spent the afternoon swimming around, playing Marco polo, playing volleyball in the pool, eating food, and chatting away.

We all pre organise what we are bringing food wise, so we have a nice array of snacks and other food. Someone usually brings a fruit platter, drinks, salads, more fruit, some meat for the BBQ (3/6 of us are vegetarians), dips and crackers, hot chips, and whatever else.

This party also gave me the opportunity to whip out the cute little milk bottle style glasses that I bought from Ikea to use at my 17th birthday.

Here's a nice close up of the salad that I made, All it is, is baby spinach leaves, rocket leaves, carrot, tomato and an Avocado dressing (Avocado, Olive oil, lemon juice and a little water to create the perfect consistency). Super healthy!! (and delicious, in my opinion)

I think the first Australia Day party we had was just before we were all starting at high school and wanted to have one last get together, because we were not going to be able to see each other often as we would be attending different schools. Ever since then it has just been a tradition and now they are all starting year 12 soon! (Good luck!!)

It was an absolutely lovely day, these girls never fail to make me laugh (especially Claudia).

Also 3rd from the left is Tori, and I think you should definitely check out her blog!
